Dedicated Dentist in Portsmouth

Get to Know Dr. Spencer Wilcox

Portsmouth native Dr. Wilcox was drawn to healthcare from an early age, and his freshman year of college was when he discovered that dentistry was the path for him. Improving people’s health, restoring their confidence, and getting them out of pain quickly just felt right. He also enjoys the relationships he gets to build with each of his patients, so he looks forward to meeting you and giving you the smile you’ve always wanted.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Wilcox went to Wilmington College before going on to graduate from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. His career actually started right here in our office, working as a dental assistant under Dr. Murray, and he couldn’t wait to come back here after finishing school. He’s also an active member of the American Dental Association and Ohio Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Wilcox and his wife, Jen, were married in 2025 and welcomed their first child, Jeannie, in 2026. Their family enjoys plenty of support because his parents and in-laws still live close by, meaning there is a lot of quality time to be had. When he isn’t trying to make his daughter smile or taking walks with his wife, Dr. Wilcox enjoys trap shooting (he was once nationally ranked for it), camping, playing video games, gardening, and cooking.
